Skoda Superb Diesel Engine Running Lean

I am experiencing some issues with my 2013 Skoda Superb diesel, mileage 153595 km. The engine seems to be running too lean. I've noticed reduced engine power, the check engine light is illuminated, and the engine runs rough, especially when accelerating, almost a jerking sensation. Could a defective injection valve or injector be the cause?

That sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Superb. Reduced power and the check engine light kept appearing. Have you checked the fuel injectors? That was the problem in my case. Also, when was the last time you replaced your spark plugs? It could be a simple fix. Did you notice any difference in fuel consumption?

Thanks for the quick reply! You mentioned fuel injectors. Was it a gradual decline in performance, or did it happen suddenly? Did your engine run rough too? I was also wondering about the EGR valve; could that be related?

Yes, the performance definitely degraded gradually. The rough running was pretty noticeable, especially at lower speeds. Regarding the EGR valve, it's possible, but in my case, the diagnostics pointed directly to the fuel injectors. If you're experiencing similar symptoms, I'd suggest getting the fuel injectors checked professionally. It could save you a lot of headaches! A diagnostic test should give you a definitive answer.

The workshop confirmed a faulty fuel injector was the issue. It's all sorted now, costing 515€. Thanks again for your help!
