Skoda Superb Diesel No Start

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2004 Skoda Superb diesel, which has 204652 km on it. The engine won't start. When I turn the key, nothing happens, and the engine light is on. Could this be an ECU failure?

I had a similar problem with my Superb, but it's the petrol version. The engine light came on, and the engine kept stalling. Checking the ECU might be worthwhile. Has the engine software been revised recently? It could be ECU failure too.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'ECU issue', what do you mean exactly? And how would I check if the software has been revised? I'm not very tech-savvy with cars.

By ECU issue, I mean the car's computer might be faulty. I'm not sure how you'd check the software yourself. It’s probably best to take it to a workshop for proper diagnosis. They can also check the battery cable connections, which could be the cause.

Just wanted to let you know the problem is solved. It was a poor connection on the battery cables. The workshop cleaned and tightened them, and it started immediately. Cost 155€. Thanks for the assistance!
