Skoda Superb Parking Aid Fault

My 2022 Skoda Superb hybrid with about 200000 km on the clock has developed a parking aid fault. The parking assist system is completely non-functional, and the error memory shows a fault related to the system. I've checked the basics, but I'm suspecting a defective cable or plug connection somewhere in the obstacle detection system. Has anyone experienced something similar, or have any pointers on where to start looking before I consider replacing the control module? The proximity sensors seem like a possible culprit.

That sounds frustrating! I actually had a similar issue with my Superb's parking assist. It turned out to be a loose connection to one of the obstacle detection sensors in the rear bumper. Have you checked the connections to all the parking sensors, especially the ones near the wheels and at the back? Might be worth a look before you start suspecting the control module itself. The blind spot sensors could also be related, maybe check those too?

You mentioned a loose connection to an obstacle detection sensor. Was it obvious when you found it, or did you need to do some serious probing with a multimeter? And which sensor was it specifically? I'm just trying to narrow down the possibilities before I start ripping apart the bumper.

It was pretty obvious once I got the bumper off – the connector was visibly loose, and there was some corrosion on the pins. I didn’t need a multimeter. I didn't pinpoint which specific sensor it was because there were a few showing signs of corrosion, so I cleaned and reconnected them all. If you're not comfortable doing that yourself, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They should be able to diagnose it quickly and replace any faulty connectors.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was a faulty plug connection to one of the proximity sensors. 95€ later, and the parking assist is working perfectly again. Thanks for your help, it saved me a lot of time diagnosing the issue myself.
