Thanks for the advice. Where exactly do I measure the battery voltage? And what kind of vehicle diagnostics tool are you talking about?

Yes, it sounds like a faulty battery sensor could be the culprit, especially with those symptoms. To measure battery voltage, use a multimeter on the battery terminals – red lead to positive, black to negative. A vehicle diagnostics tool also called an OBD2 scanner plugs into your car's diagnostic port and reads error codes and battery health data. While you can try these steps, I would advise you take it to a workshop.

Took it to the workshop. They confirmed it was the battery sensor and replaced it. Cost me 315€. Thanks for your help.

Flickering lights and weak starts often point to battery issues. First, check the battery voltage when the engine is off. Should be around 12.6V. Then, check the voltage while starting. If it drops significantly (below 10V), the battery might be bad or not getting enough charge. Also, a vehicle diagnostics tool can read the battery health and charging system status. Do you have access to one?
