I appreciate the quick reply. I did not check the brake sensor connections myself. I am not that experienced. And yes, there was a weird noise coming from the rear, a kind of whirring sound, before the brake completely failed. Did you experience the same?

Yes, the whirring sound is definitely a sign of the electric motor failing in the caliper. Given the symptoms and error codes, I would say the workshop's diagnosis is most likely correct. Replacing the caliper should resolve the problem. I strongly suggest you take it to the workshop to avoid potential brake control issues and further complications.

Thank you for the advice. I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the electric motor in the brake caliper. The repair cost 505€. Hopefully, this fixes the issue for good.

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Yeti, although I have to admit I didn't reach such a high mileage. The electronic parking brake malfunctioned, and I got the same warning light. Have you checked the brake sensor connections? Sometimes, a loose connection can cause a false error. Also, when the fault occurs, do you notice any unusual noises from the rear calipers?
