Skoda Yeti engine control malfunction

My 2015 Skoda Yeti with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The engine light is on, and it won't start. I suspect an ECU issue or failure, but I'm not sure. Any ideas before I start tearing things apart? Engine diagnostics points to some sort of engine control malfunction. Could it be something simple?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Yeti. Check engine light came on, and it wouldn't start. Have you checked the battery connections? Are they clean and tight?

Battery connections? I gave them a quick look, but didn't really focus on them. What should I be looking for?

Definitely check those connections closely. Mine looked okay at first glance, but they were corroded. Cleaned them, and it fired right up. If that doesn't fix it, then it could be a bigger ECU issue, and you might need a workshop to take a look.

You were right. The battery cable connections were the problem. Cleaning them got the Yeti started. Cost me 155€ at the shop. Thanks for the help.
