Skoda Yeti engine misfiring

Right, I'm at my wit's end with my 2011 Skoda Yeti, gasoline engine, only 35236 km on the clock. I'm getting engine misfiring. The engine runs rough, the check engine light is on, and it jerks when I accelerate. Feels like it's lost power too. My gut feeling, or at least what I'm suspecting, is a defective fuel injector. Anyone else experienced similar

Sounds frustrating I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. Engine misfiring, rough idle, the whole shebang. Have you checked your ignition coils A failing coil can cause misfires too. Also, what about the fuel pump Is it delivering consistent pressure A weak fuel pump can starve the engine, especially under acceleration.

Interesting points How did you diagnose the ignition coils and fuel pump on your BMW Were there any specific tests you ran, or symptoms you noticed besides the rough running

I used an OBD2 scanner to pinpoint the misfiring cylinder, then swapped the ignition coil with another cylinder to see if the misfire followed. That confirmed the faulty coil. Regarding the fuel pump, a mechanic checked the fuel pressure. Honestly, given your symptoms and relatively low mileage, a fuel injector issue is highly probable. I'd strongly suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop. They can run tests to confirm the faulty injector and replace it.

Big thanks for sharing your experience I took it to the workshop, and you nailed it – faulty fuel injector. All sorted now, cost me around 515€, but the Yeti is running smoothly again. Seriously appreciate the help
