Skoda Yeti engine trouble
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Skoda Yeti with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the check engine light on and occasional stalling at idle. The error code indicates 'incorrect fuel composition,' which could be caused by a defective cable or plug. A similar issue in another vehicle was linked to a faulty sensor affecting the fuel mixture. After professional inspection, the problem was identified as a defective plug connection, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Fuel contamination, you say? What exactly did they find in your fuel?

Indeed, fuel contamination. While I didn't personally inspect the fuel, the diagnostic report indicated an imbalance in the fuel-air ratio, potentially caused by impurities or incorrect fuel additives affecting the combustion chamber. Given your error code and the symptoms, I would recommend a thorough inspection by a qualified technician. It is plausible that a defective connection is disrupting the sensor readings, leading to the incorrect fuel composition error. It is best to have it professionally assessed to avoid potential long-term engine damage due to the wrong fuel mixture.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the shop. Turns out it was a defective plug connection. 95€ and I'm back on the road.

I experienced a similar issue with my Opel Astra some time ago. The engine light illuminated intermittently, and the car occasionally stalled. The mechanic suspected a potential fuel mixture problem. Have you considered the possibility of fuel contamination or the use of fuel additives that might be incompatible with your engine? In my case, the issue was indeed related to a faulty sensor affecting the fuel mixture.
