Skoda Yeti Immobilizer Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Skoda Yeti with a diesel engine faced an immobilizer problem, where the engine either failed to start or started briefly before cutting out. The issue was suspected to be related to a key programming error, possibly due to a corrupted key signal. The suggested solution was to consult a car electronics specialist to diagnose and recode the key. This approach resolved the problem, as the specialist successfully recoded the key, turning off the security light and allowing the car to run properly.

Yes, the security light is on. I have not attempted an immobilizer bypass. You mentioned a similar issue; could you elaborate on the symptoms you experienced and what the resolution was?

My Yeti displayed the exact same symptoms - engine cutting out almost immediately and the security light staying illuminated. In my case, it turned out to be a corrupted key signal. I would advise against attempting any immobilizer bypass yourself. I strongly recommend taking it to a car electronics specialist. They should be able to diagnose the issue properly and recode the key if necessary.

The car is running now. It was a key programming issue. The car electronics specialist recoded the key, and the security light is now off. Total cost was 45€. Thank you for your assistance.

I had a similar experience with my Skoda Yeti, although I have a petrol engine. Is the security light illuminated on the dashboard when you try to start it? It sounds like the key signal isn't being recognized by the car immobilizer. Have you tried using your spare key to see if that makes any difference? It could help narrow down whether it's a key issue or something more systemic with the car immobilizer system.
