Skoda Yeti Transmission Error

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say sensor connection, where should I be looking? Is it near the radiator itself, or closer to the gearbox? Any tips on how to spot a dodgy connection? I'm not exactly a mechanic, but I'm willing to get my hands dirty.

On the Megane, the sensor was right on the oil cooler itself, which was mounted near the radiator. Look for anything obvious: loose connections, frayed wires, or corrosion. Give the connectors a wiggle and see if anything changes. If you're not super confident, it might be worth getting a mechanic to take a quick look. Even just paying for an hour of their time to diagnose the connections properly could save you a fortune. If the error code points to a connection issue, that's usually the first place they'll check anyway.

Got the Yeti back. It was a faulty connection to the oil cooler, like the error said. 95€ later and it's shifting smoothly. Thanks for your help and the advice about checking the connections first. Seriously saved me a lot of stress.

That sounds rough. I had something similar happen with my old Renault Megane, though it wasn't exactly the same. My gearbox was going nuts, and it turned out to be a faulty sensor connection. Before you panic and think it's a full transmission rebuild, have you checked all the wiring and connectors going to the oil cooler? Could be as simple as a loose plug or corroded wire. Definitely worth a look before you start tearing things apart or paying someone else to.
