SLC boost pressure control fault

I am experiencing a boost pressure control fault with my 2016 Mercedes SLC gasoline engine, mileage at 249874 km. The check engine light is illuminated, engine power is reduced, engine response is poor, and fuel consumption is higher. I suspect a defect in a vacuum switching valve. Any advice?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my SLC. Check engine light, turbo lag that was driving me nuts, and the car just felt sluggish. I'm no mechanic, but did you notice any compressor surge or anything like that? Could also be a faulty pressure sensor messing things up. Maybe even the bypass valve?

I appreciate the quick response. Compressor surge wasn't something I specifically noticed, although I am not familiar with the symptoms. Can you provide more detail regarding your experience?

Yeah, so the surge was kinda like a fluttering sound when I let off the gas after the turbo kicked in. I even thought it could be a boost solenoid issue, but eventually I had to bring mine in to get looked at. Turned out to be something similar to what you were saying about the valve. Honestly, with those kilometers on the clock, might be best to get it properly diagnosed. Save yourself some headache.

Thank you for your input. I followed your suggestion and had the vehicle inspected. A defective vacuum switching valve was identified and replaced. The repair cost was 140€. The symptoms have been resolved.
