SM3 Engine Power Loss

Hi. I'm having a weird issue with my 2015 Renault SM3, gasoline engine, 68852 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and I'm getting reduced engine power and poor response. Sometimes it even stalls at idle. I've also noticed higher fuel consumption, a whistling noise, and a loud hissing when I accelerate. Could it be the turbo?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Renault Megane, not the same year though. Check your wastegate valve. The symptoms you're describing, especially the hissing and power loss, point to a possible defect there. Have you checked the MAP sensor or the throttle body?

Honestly, unless you're comfortable working on turbochargers, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. A faulty wastegate valve can cause serious issues if not addressed properly. It's likely the culprit, and you might be looking at replacing it.

Thanks a lot! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defect in the wastegate valve. The repair cost me 860€. I appreciate the help!
