SM3 Error Messages
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Renault SM3 is experiencing error messages on the infotainment system and speedometer, with a persistent fault code detected by an OBD-II scan tool. The issue may be due to incorrect coding in one of the vehicle's modules, potentially requiring reprogramming of the ECU. It is advised to take the car to a workshop for diagnosis and correction, as this could resolve the error messages.

That's interesting. No, I haven't had any recent work done, and nothing has changed that I'm aware of. When you say 'coding issue,' do you mean something like the ECU needs to be reprogrammed? Could incorrect coding really cause those specific errors to pop up on the infotainment and speedometer?

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. The fault code pointed to a module that wasn't correctly configured for my vehicle. The errors appearing on the infotainment and speedometer were a direct result of this. I'd suggest you take it to a workshop and don't keep driving it in that condition. It's probably something they can fix quickly with their diagnostic tools.

Thanks for the advice! I was hoping it was just a sensor or something, but it sounds like it's a bit more involved than I initially thought. I'll book it into the workshop ASAP and mention the incorrect vehicle coding. They quoted me about 360€ for a fix, so hopefully, that'll be the end of it. Really appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my SM3. Same error messages, same symptoms. Did you recently have any work done on the car, or has anything changed recently? For me, it turned out to be a coding issue with one of the modules.
