Thanks for the quick reply! How did you figure out it was the heat sensor specifically? And did you notice any other weird stuff happening besides the light and the power loss?

In response to your inquiry, the diagnostic scan indicated a fault code specifically associated with the exhaust temperature sensor circuit. Furthermore, a thorough inspection revealed minor leakage within the exhaust system, which was, in my estimation, contributing to temperature fluctuation and the subsequent triggering of the sensor. I therefore recommend visiting a repair shop to check the exhaust system. My eventual repair cost was around 265€.

Okay, thanks a lot for the detailed explanation! I'll take it to a shop and have them check the exhaust system and that heat sensor right away. Really appreciate the help!

Greetings. I experienced comparable issues with my Renault SM5 some time ago. I would hypothesize that the source of the problem stems from a faulty exhaust temperature sensor. Commence by performing a diagnostic scan to ascertain whether the aforementioned sensor is indeed the origin of the malfunction. The symptoms you describe are indicative of aberrant temperature readings, which can precipitate both the illumination of the check engine light and a reduction in engine performance.
