SMAX air conditioning failure

My 2011 Ford S-MAX diesel's air conditioning isn't working at all. No cooling, and it doesn't seem to engage. It's done 248538 km, so I'm wondering if it's the valves. Any ideas before I spend a fortune?

I had a similar issue with my S-MAX. Have you checked for refrigerant leaks or had the AC relay tested? Could be a simple fix before you start tearing into valves.

Did your S-MAX have the exact same symptoms – no cooling and the system not engaging? If so, what did you do to find the problem before getting it fixed?

Yep, exact same symptoms. Honestly, I messed around with it for a bit but eventually took it to a workshop. They confirmed it and sorted it out. Saved me a lot of hassle.

Thanks, sounds like I should get a technician to look at it. I've had an estimate of 1000€, which I hope covers the valves.
