Sonata brake booster pressure sensor failure
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Hyundai Sonata experienced weak braking and an error message, attributed to a brake booster pressure sensor failure. The issue was suspected to be caused by an improperly bled brake system after recent maintenance. The solution involved replacing the damaged sensor and correctly bleeding the brake system, which resolved the problem.

Yeah, I had the brake lines flushed and new pads installed not too long ago. So, you think it's more than just the pressure sensor itself?

It's hard to say for sure, but based on my past experience, a seemingly simple sensor issue can sometimes point to a bigger problem with the ABS. I would advise getting it checked at a workshop. It could be something as simple as trapped air after the brake job, or it could be a faulty ABS module. Best to be safe when it comes to brakes!

Thanks for the insight! I took it to my usual shop, and you were right on the money. It turns out that the brake system wasn't bled properly which eventually damaged the brake booster pressure sensor. They replaced the sensor (90€) and re-bled the system, and everything's back to normal. Appreciate the help!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Subaru Outback. Same symptoms – error message, spongy brake pedal. Turned out to be a dodgy ABS system throwing everything off. Did you recently have any work done on the brakes?
