Indeed, the symptoms are much more pronounced during cold starts. Did the error code you encountered also point towards the fuel filter heater? What ended up being the culprit in your case?

Yes, the error pointed directly to the fuel filter heater. I spent ages fiddling, checking connections, and was about to replace the whole filter assembly myself, but in the end, I just took it to the workshop. They sorted it quickly. Seems those connections can be really sensitive. Best to get it checked properly before throwing parts at it.

Thanks for sharing! Reassuring to know I'm not alone. Appreciate the advice, and I think I'll follow your lead and get it professionally diagnosed. Turns out, the cable to the fuel filter heater was indeed defective, just as suspected. A quick replacement and 95€ later, she's running smoothly again.

Interesting. I have a Sonata diesel as well, and had similar symptoms a while back – rough idle, sluggish acceleration, and fuel consumption definitely took a hit. An error code popped up, too. Was yours especially noticeable during cold starts?
