Sonata Key Fob Battery Issue

Hey, I've got a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. It's only got 21948 km on it, but I'm getting a 'key battery low' warning. Keyless access isn't working anymore, and there's an error stored. The locking is acting up too. I'm guessing it's just the key fob battery. Anyone else seen this?

Summary of the thread

A 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid owner experienced a 'key battery low' warning, leading to issues with keyless access and remote locking. The problem is likely due to a depleted key fob battery. Replacing the battery and having a technician check the error memory, possibly resetting the immobilizer, resolved the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have a Sonata, but not the hybrid. I had the same thing happen. The 'key battery low' warning came on before the key fob died completely. It was a pain. Can you still start the car, or is it just the remote?

The engine starts fine; it's just the remote locking, unlocking, and keyless entry that are affected. The car starts when the key is near the button. Sound familiar?

Yep, that's exactly what happened to me. It's probably the key fob battery. You could replace it yourself, but I'd suggest a technician. They can check the error memory too. My immobilizer needed a reset.

Thanks for confirming. I'll book an appointment to get the key fob battery replaced and the error memory checked. The repair cost 37€, and everything works as expected again. Thanks!
