SpaceTourer diesel hissing noise power loss

Alright, Citroen SpaceTourer fans, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2017 SpaceTourer diesel is throwing a hissy fit with 229374 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, power is MIA, and throttle response is terrible. There's also a whistling sound accompanying a loud hissing when I try to accelerate. Sometimes it even stalls at idle, and the fuel consumption is awful. I'm 90% sure the boost pressure actuator is playing up – I suspect the electrical bypass valve is defective. Anyone else dealt with this?

I had similar symptoms with my SpaceTourer: check engine light, reduced power, that awful hissing…sounds very familiar. Have you checked the turbo actuator itself? Maybe it's jammed or the linkage is worn?

Cheers for the reply! I was focusing on the electrical side but maybe you are spot-on and there's something mechanical at play. Is there anything I can easily check on the turbo actuator without special tools? I feel like I'm missing something obvious that you may have experienced!

I'm no expert, but given your experience, I think it's best to have a mechanic take a look. A malfunctioning turbocharger can cause other issues, and it's better to be safe than sorry. My issue ended up being a seized actuator and going to an experienced mechanic would have saved me much anguish.

Much appreciated for the advice! I think I'll book it in for a proper inspection. It turns out I had a defective electrical bypass valve that led to a faulty boost pressure actuator, costing 250€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
