SpaceTourer Overheating Issue

Hello, I'm having a strange issue with my 2017 Citroen SpaceTourer, diesel engine. The engine overheats, and the check engine light illuminates. I've checked the coolant level, which is fine, and visually inspected the radiator fan; the fan blade doesn't spin at all. Could a defective speed sensor really be the culprit, causing the radiator fan not to operate?

I had similar symptoms in my SpaceTourer. If the engine cooling isn't working right, it can definitely trigger the check engine light. Have you checked the fan relay and fuses related to the cooling system? It could be a simpler fix than the sensor. What mileage are you at?

Thanks for your reply. I haven't checked the relay or fuses yet, I will add it to my list. My SpaceTourer is currently at 127550 km. Did your fan simply stop working too?

Yes, that's exactly what happened. After further investigation, the workshop confirmed that the radiator fan was not spinning. It is most likely a defective speed sensor. I would suggest visiting a trusted repair shop, since you can't fix it yourself.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I took your advice and went to the workshop. It turned out to be the speed sensor as you suggested. Repair cost 250€. The cooling system works properly again.
