A full diagnostic... you mean with proper diagnostic equipment? I just have a basic OBD reader. I'm not sure what actuator even means or where the wiring for the flaps are. Is that something easy to check?

Yeah, a proper diagnostic. The actuator is basically a small motor that opens and closes the flaps controlling the airflow. If the diagnostic points to the rear ventilation flap actuator, it might be the culprit. If it is, replacing it should be the solution. But honestly, these HVAC repair jobs can be tricky. You're probably better off letting a workshop do it if you aren't experienced with electrical stuff.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. The diagnostic showed a defective connection. They fixed the cable/plug to the rear ventilation flap. Cost me 95€ and the air conditioning is working again. So happy!

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane. Not the same car, obviously, but same symptoms: AC stopped cooling properly and some error code about a flap motor. Did you run a full system diagnostic to pinpoint the fault location? Maybe it's a broken actuator or a wiring problem in the air distribution system?
