Spin Water Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet Spin diesel is experiencing a check engine light with codes indicating a water sensor malfunction, causing the engine to run rough. The issue might be due to a faulty sensor, corroded connector, or broken cable. Cleaning the connector with electrical contact cleaner is suggested as a potential solution. If the problem persists, professional diagnostics and possible sensor replacement are recommended.

Corroded connector, huh? I gave the connector a quick glance, but didn't really investigate. Where's the sensor on the Spin? Is it worth pulling the connector apart and cleaning it, even if it looks okay?

Definitely worth a shot! On my Peugeot, the corrosion was subtle, almost invisible at first. I cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner and a small brush, and the problem vanished. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably a defective sensor or a broken cable. If you're not sure, get it checked out at a shop to avoid bigger damage.

Thanks for the tip! I'll properly clean the connector this weekend. If that doesn't fix it, I'll take it to the workshop. They quoted me around 95€ for diagnostics and sensor replacement, which isn't too bad if it solves the problem. Hopefully it is just that! I appreciate the help!

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot, although it was gasoline powered. Check engine light, weird error codes... it drove me nuts for a week! Did you check the sensor's wiring and connector? On my Peugeot, it turned out to be a corroded connector causing havoc. Where is the water sensor located on your car?
