Sprinter diesel manifold pressure sensor issue

My 2015 Mercedes Sprinter diesel is giving me grief. The check engine light is on, and it seems to be a faulty manifold pressure sensor. I've got reduced engine power, sluggish response, and fuel consumption is up. Mileage is 182068 km. I suspect a vacuum leak affecting the MAP sensor, but I'm not sure where to start.

Vacuum leak, huh? Check the hoses connected to the intake manifold. They crack and cause problems. It could be a simple fix, or the sensor itself might be bad.

Thanks! When you say 'hoses connected to the intake manifold,' which specific hoses are you talking about? I want to check the right ones. And how would I know if the MAP sensor is the problem?

I'm no mechanic, but there are diagrams online for the hose layout. The sensor might need replacing, based on your description. A workshop check might be best.

Thanks. You were right about getting it checked. The garage said the manifold pressure sensor was bad and causing a vacuum leak. I replaced it, and the Sprinter is running well again. It cost 235€ for the sensor and labor.
