The blower motor seems to be working fine, blowing air as it should No weird noises or anything The heat is just not working at all when the engine is cold Once the engine warms up a bit, the heating system seems to get better Did you have the exact same symptoms Was your heating element the problem too Any other possible causes I should be aware of before I spend the money

Thank you for the clarification Yes, the symptoms you describe are consistent with my experience In my case, the PTC heater was indeed the root cause While I am not a certified technician, it would be prudent to consult with a qualified mechanic to ensure a proper diagnosis A thorough inspection can rule out any other potential issues, such as faulty sensors or wiring problems within the heating system Based on your description and my experience, it is highly probable that replacing the PTC heater will resolve the problem However, a professional assessment is always recommended

Appreciate the input Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on The PTC heater was the culprit I replaced it, and now the engine runs like a dream, even on cold starts Fuel consumption is back to normal too 350€ well spent Thanks for confirming my suspicions It's like when a doctor sees a patient with a cough and knows it's probably just a cold - sometimes you just need someone to say, Yeah, sounds like you know what you're talking about

I understand you are experiencing issues with the PTC heater in your Mercedes Sprinter I have encountered a similar problem with my own Sprinter The symptoms you describe align with a defective PTC heater, including poor engine performance during cold starts, stored error codes, and increased fuel consumption Before committing to a replacement, could you please confirm if the blower motor is functioning correctly A malfunctioning blower motor can sometimes mimic the symptoms of a faulty PTC heater, though it is less likely in your case given the stored error codes Have you had any issues with the heating system prior to this
