Sprinter electric steering column issue

My 2015 Mercedes Sprinter with a diesel engine has a dead electric steering column adjustment. The error memory shows a fault, and the column won't move. Could this be a bad cable or plug? Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Sprinter's steering column. Check the related fuses. Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? Also, check the connectors under the seat before tearing things apart.

Good call on the fuses, I'll check those. Which connectors under the seat are you referring to? Was your issue exactly the same – no adjustment at all?

Yes, mine was completely dead. The connectors under the seat handle various electronic functions, potentially including the steering column adjustment. I would recommend you take your vehicle to the workshop as soon as possible so they can check all the connections for you. If it is a simple fix you are looking at around 95€.

Thanks for the advice! It was a loose connector under the seat, just like you said. I reconnected it, and everything is working now. I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!
