Sprinter electrical issues and control unit problems

Has anyone seen this I have a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter with a gasoline engine and only 31766 km on the clock. Recently the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Error memory is full. Electrical stuff is going haywire and the navigation is dead. The report says it's likely a programming issue with the control unit. Anyone else experienced this kind of vehicle software problem?

I had similar issues with my BMW a while back, though not exactly the same model. The symptoms you describe sound like a software bug affecting the control module. It's possible the programming of your control unit is implausible, as your report suggests. Has there been any recent work done on the vehicle, or any software attempted?

No recent work or , as far as I know. What exactly do you mean by 'control module'? Is that the same as the 'control unit'?

Yes, 'control module' and 'control unit' are often used interchangeably. It's essentially the computer that controls various functions in your Sprinter. Given that you haven't had any recent work done, it is likely a fault within the vehicle software itself. A software or re-programming of the control unit by a workshop is probably the solution. The quoted repair cost of 240€ seems reasonable for this type of fix.

Thanks for the info. Dropped it off at the workshop this morning. They confirmed it's a Vehicle software issue and need to perform a software on the control unit.
