Sprinter engine stalling and power loss

That sounds rough I have a Sprinter too, and I had almost the exact same thing happen last year Check engine light, stalling I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out My mechanic told me it could be a bad batch of fuel, but I think it was more complicated Did you notice any weird noises before it started acting up Its probably best to get the car sensors checked right away

Weird noises, hmm I dont think so It just started happening suddenly Which car sensors did you check when you had the problem And did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you need to take it to a shop Im dreading the potential car maintenance costs

Nah, I didnt fix it myself Im not that skilled with automotive repair I took it straight to my usual shop They ran a bunch of tests and confirmed it was something to do with the fuel injection system Honestly, Id recommend you do the same Its better to get it diagnosed properly than to mess around and potentially make things worse Plus, those guys have the right tools to check everything thoroughly I think its probably the High pressure pump anyway as you mentioned

Thanks for the advice I appreciate you sharing your experience It sounds like a trip to the mechanic is unavoidable Turns out you were right it was the fuel volume regulator, and the high pressure pump was defective Cost me 1510€ for the repair Ouch At least its running smoothly again
