Sprinter Headlight Range Control Fault

My 2015 Mercedes Sprinter diesel, with 93165 km, has a lighting system issue. I'm getting a headlight range control fault with the warning light on. The main beam shines too low or too high. I've checked the headlight switch, and it seems okay. Could this be an auto-leveling issue?

The symptoms you describe sound similar to a problem I had with my Sprinter. Is there an error code stored? Also, have you had any issues with the beam adjustment before?

Yes, there is an error code stored, but I don't have it right now. As for beam adjustment issues, not really. Could this be a control module issue, or is it more likely to be something mechanical?

Given that you're getting an error code and haven't had prior issues, I suspect a defective servomotor within the headlight assembly. The control module is a possibility, but the servomotor is the more common culprit. It's not a simple fix, and I ended up going to a workshop.

You nailed it! It was indeed a defective servomotor in the headlight. 1040€ later, the lighting system is back to normal. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
