Sprinter radar sensor problems

Radar sensor issues on my 2000 Sprinter Gasoline anyone?

I have a Sprinter, although a newer model, and experienced similar symptoms: error message in the speedometer, warning light, and the adaptive cruise control going offline. Something might be interfering with the radar's field of view. Is the sensor visibly dirty or obstructed? Calibration issues can also trigger this, but it's hard to say. When did you last have the collision avoidance system checked?

Thanks for the quick response. I had a quick look and the sensor does appear a bit mucky. I will try cleaning it properly and see if that fixes the issue. If cleaning doesn't work, how involved is the radar calibration process? I have seen some tools online for automotive sensors, but I am unsure if they are reliable.

Cleaning is definitely the first step. If the problem persists after cleaning, and given the range of systems affected (error memory, speedometer issues, failure of various systems), it might be best to consult a workshop with the appropriate diagnostic tools. Radar calibration requires specialized equipment to ensure accurate sensor alignment and function. Without it, the collision avoidance and adaptive cruise systems may not operate as intended.

OK, I appreciate the advice. I cleaned the sensor, and that seems to have sorted it. I cleared the error memory and the warning light is gone. Cost me 45€ for the cleaning product. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
