Sprinter washer fluid issue

I'm having an issue with my 2023 Mercedes Sprinter electric engine. It has about 156000 km on it. A warning light for low washer fluid is on, and the windshield washer system isn't working. The diagnostic error memory shows a related error code. Can a low wiper fluid level really cause the whole system to shut down?

Newer vehicles can be pretty sensitive. If the washer fluid is low, it can trigger that warning light and shut down the pump to prevent damage. Have you checked the fluid level?

Thanks. Where is the reservoir located? I looked, but I couldn't find it right away.

It should be under the hood, usually marked with a windshield and spray jets symbol. If you can't find it, check the owner's manual. If it's not obvious, I'd suggest a workshop visit. It could be more than just low washer fluid.

I added wiper fluid and the warning is gone. The fluid cost 25€.
