Hey Interesting, I too had a similar challenge with my GLA class some time ago. It seems like the problem with the ECU might actually be common. Could you remember how much you paid for the repair? And has anything else come up since then that you can share? Thank you and best regards!

Hey, since my visit to the mechanic, the engine start-stop system is working perfectly again. It was quite a scare, but luckily everything is running smoothly again. I spent about €1000.00 on the control unit and the repair. It wasn't exactly a bargain, but at least the problem is now solved and it's running like a kitten again. Nothing new has occurred so far, so that seems to have been the solution! Best regards!

Well then, thanks for your help and advice guys. I've actually never thought about the ECU before, but it seems like this could be a common problem. I will give the car to the mechanic tomorrow for inspection and ask him to pay special attention to the ECU. Hopefully the repair won't be that expensive, but I'll keep you posted. Thanks again and have a good evening.

Hi, I recently had a similar problem with my 2018 Mercedes GLC Class. The car was throwing up the same symptoms as yours, including the lighting issues and increased fuel consumption. It turned out that there was actually a problem with the ECU. On my car, the mechanic was quite efficient. He had to replace the ECU and make some minor adjustments to the engine start-stop system. It was a somewhat serious problem because it affected the overall performance of the car. So I can recommend you to check the ECU in your Mercedes. I hope that helps you! Best regards.
