Stepwgn Active Hood Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda Stepwgn hybrid displayed an 'Active hood fault' and an airbag warning, with an OBD scanner indicating an error in the active hood system. The issue was suspected to be related to the spring actuators or a phantom trigger from the acceleration sensor. After consulting with others, it was determined that a faulty impact sensor was causing the system to falsely detect a collision. Replacing the acceleration sensor resolved the problem.

That's interesting! No, there wasn't any bump or collision. It just happened out of nowhere. Do you think it's related to the acceleration sensor, like some sort of phantom trigger?

Could be the impact sensor. In my case, it was a faulty sensor causing the system to think there was a collision. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out properly. They can diagnose the issue and replace the sensor if needed.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on - it was the acceleration sensor. The error memory also pointed to that. They replaced it, and the total cost was 315€. Everything is working fine now!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Stepwgn. Did it happen after any kind of minor bump or anything that might've triggered the crash detection system?
