Stepwgn gearbox slip and unclean shifts

I'm having an issue with my 2009 Honda Stepwgn, gasoline engine. At 124465 km, the gearbox slips and shifts uncleanly. Could this be transfer case oil wear? I suspect defective gears inside the transfer case.

Summary of the thread

The 2009 Honda Stepwgn is experiencing gearbox slipping and unclean shifts, potentially due to transfer case oil wear or defective gears. Gear wear inside the transfer case is suspected, which, if neglected, could lead to complete failure. It is advised to have the vehicle inspected and repaired promptly to avoid further damage.

I have a Stepwgn, and I had similar issues. It's quite possible you're experiencing gear wear. Has the oil been checked recently? Gear grinding is a good indicator of oil wear.

Thanks. When you say 'gear wear', what components are most likely affected, and what are the potential consequences of neglecting this?

By 'gear wear' I mean mechanical wear and tear on the gears inside your transfer case. If left unattended, it can lead to complete failure, so get it to a workshop.

Thanks for the clarification and advice. After inspection, you were correct about the transfer case. The repair cost 330€.
