Stepwgn hybrid camshaft sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Honda Stepwgn hybrid was experiencing starting issues and reduced engine performance, with error codes indicating a camshaft position problem. Initial checks of the sensor cable and plug showed no visible issues, but a faulty connection was suspected. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed with the camshaft sensor connection, which was resolved by replacing the plug and wiring.

Just the wiring so far. The sensor itself looks okay, no visible damage or anything. I'm hesitant to just throw parts at it without knowing for sure. Was your issue definitely the sensor, or something else lurking?

Yep, mine was the camshaft sensor. I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop. Could be a faulty sensor despite looking fine. Better safe than sorry with these hybrid engines!

Cheers for the advice! Dropped it at the workshop this morning. Turns out it was the camshaft sensor connection, just like you suspected! New plug and wiring fixed it. Total damage: 95€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Stepwgn, although I haven't got the hybrid version. Camshaft position sensor issues, right? Engine misfire, rough idling...the whole shebang? Did you check the sensor itself, or just the wiring?
