Stepwgn weak battery and flickering lights
Summary of the thread
The 2011 Honda Stepwgn exhibited symptoms of a weak battery and flickering lights, with a low voltage reading of 13.2V when the engine was running. These issues suggested a potential charging problem, possibly due to a faulty battery sensor. After professional diagnosis, it was confirmed that the battery sensor was defective, and replacing it resolved the issues, restoring the car's performance.

I do have a multimeter. When the engine is running, the voltage is around 13.2V, which seems a bit low. What voltage should I expect to see if the sensor is working correctly?

13.2V is indeed on the lower side. It should ideally be closer to 14V. Given the symptoms and voltage reading, a defective battery sensor is highly probable. I recommend getting it professionally diagnosed and replaced at a trusted workshop. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was a bad battery sensor. The repair cost me 315€. The car is now running perfectly.

Low voltage and flickering lights definitely point to a charging issue. A faulty battery sensor could be the culprit. Do you have a multimeter to check the battery voltage when the engine is running? What readings are you getting?
