Stepwgn weak battery and flickering lights

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my 2011 Honda Stepwgn with a gasoline engine. Lately, the battery seems weak when starting, especially in the mornings. The lights have also been flickering a bit, which is unusual. I checked the battery voltage, and it seems a little low. Could it be a bad battery sensor causing this? The car has 175425 km on it. I had a similar issue with another car, but it was the alternator.

Low voltage and flickering lights definitely point to a charging issue. A faulty battery sensor could be the culprit. Do you have a multimeter to check the battery voltage when the engine is running? What readings are you getting?

I do have a multimeter. When the engine is running, the voltage is around 13.2V, which seems a bit low. What voltage should I expect to see if the sensor is working correctly?

13.2V is indeed on the lower side. It should ideally be closer to 14V. Given the symptoms and voltage reading, a defective battery sensor is highly probable. I recommend getting it professionally diagnosed and replaced at a trusted workshop. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was a bad battery sensor. The repair cost me 315€. The car is now running perfectly.
