Stilo Defective Mirror Heating
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Fiat Stilo has defective mirror heating, with both mirrors remaining cold in freezing temperatures. The error memory indicates an electrical fault, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. A suggested solution is to check the wiring harness where it enters the door, as these wires often fail due to constant flexing. It is recommended to have a workshop inspect the wiring and connections with a multimeter, as this is a known issue with the Stilo.

Do you remember which specific wires were affected? And did the error memory also show a specific error code?

Honestly, I don't remember the exact wires. Yes, there was an error code, but I didn't write it down. I'd recommend having a workshop check the wiring and connections with a multimeter. It could also be the heating element in the mirror itself, but the wiring is more likely, it's a known Stilo problem. In my case, the repair was about 95€.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have the wiring checked by a shop. The repair cost you mentioned sounds reasonable, hopefully it's the same in my case, then the winter driving will be more relaxed again.

I had something similar with my Stilo. The mirror heating went out. Check the wiring harness where it enters the door. Those wires are constantly flexing when you open and close the door. It's a common point of failure.
