Stilo rough running high fuel consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Fiat Stilo diesel was experiencing rough running, high fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration, with the engine light on. Initial concerns included the catalytic converter or spark plugs, but further discussion suggested a fueling issue, possibly involving the air filter or oxygen sensor. Ultimately, a faulty injector was identified and replaced, resolving the problem and improving the car's performance.

I haven't checked the air filter yet, but the mileage is at 104942 km. Could a dirty air filter really cause all these problems? And what about the intake manifold?

Mileage seems decent. While a clogged air filter can contribute, the symptoms, especially with the engine light, point towards a more serious issue, perhaps a defective injection valve. Is it still running rich? At this point, wouldn't a visit to a workshop be the wisest thing to do?

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, and it turns out one of the injectors was faulty. Cost me 515€ to replace, but the car is running much better now. Thanks for your help!

Rough running and high fuel consumption on a diesel Stilo could point to a fueling issue. Have you checked the air filter or considered a faulty oxygen sensor? What kind of mileage are we talking about?
