Stilo System Readiness Check Incomplete
Summary of the thread
The 'System readiness check incomplete' error on a 2006 Fiat Stilo diesel indicates that the car's diagnostic systems haven't completed their self-tests, likely due to a recent OBD2 scan resetting the readiness monitors. The suggested solution is to perform a 'drive cycle,' which involves a mix of highway and city driving to allow the system to complete its checks. In this case, driving approximately 50km resolved the issue, clearing the error and passing inspection without additional costs.

A drive cycle? I've heard of them, but what does it involve for the Stilo?

A drive cycle is required. It's usually a mix of highway and city driving with speed and acceleration changes. Since the error persists, and given modern engine management complexities, get help from a qualified technician. Further diagnosis may be needed. A workshop visit might be best.

The fix was simple. I just needed to drive it longer. The system readiness check completed after about 50km. The error disappeared, and the inspection passed at no cost 0€!

The 'System readiness check incomplete' notification means the car's diagnostic systems haven't finished their self-tests since the last error memory clear. Your OBD2 scan likely reset the readiness monitors. A 'drive cycle' is needed. Have you tried the Fiat-recommended drive cycle?
