Stilo turbo actuator fault
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Fiat Stilo is experiencing reduced engine power, poor response, a whistling noise, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The suspected cause is a fault in the turbo actuator, possibly due to a defective electrical bypass valve. A similar issue was resolved by confirming the problem with a professional workshop, leading to the replacement of the faulty valve.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yes, that's exactly it! The whistle is incredibly annoying, especially under load. And the power loss is significant, making acceleration very difficult. Could you provide any more details about your experience? Did you confirm the actuator valve was the issue?

Yep, the noise and power loss match what I had. I tried a few things, but honestly, I ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was related to the turbo system. Seems like that actuator valve can be a real pain. I'd get it checked out professionally if I were you.

Thanks for confirming, I appreciate your help! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was the electrical bypass valve on the turbo actuator. Repair cost me around 250€. Hopefully, this will solve my issues.

Whoa, sounds rough! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my Stilo. Is it like a super annoying whistle that turns into a shriek when you put your foot down? And the power just disappears, right? Makes overtaking a nightmare!
