Strada Airbag Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Fiat Strada experienced an airbag failure, indicated by a constantly lit warning lamp. Diagnostics suggested a defective cable or plug connection as the cause. After checking common issues like crash sensors and wiring harnesses without success, it was advised to consult a workshop due to the safety-critical nature of airbag systems. The workshop confirmed a defective plug connection, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Yes, I checked those, but without success. Do you remember where the error was in your Volvo, to narrow down the errors in my car?

In my Volvo it ended up being a faulty connection within the steering wheel itself. The repair involved replacing the clock spring and associated wiring. Given your Fiat's age, and that you've checked the usual suspects, it's advisable to have a workshop take a look, especially since airbag systems are safety-critical.

OK, thank you for the info. I am going to take your advice and scheduled a workshop visit. Report says it was indeed a defective plug connection, and repair cost me 95€. All systems nominal again.

I had a similar issue with my Volvo V70 years ago. The airbag light was constantly on. Have you checked the crash sensors or the wiring harnesses under the seats? Sometimes those connections become loose or corroded.
