Strada Engine Stalling After Fuel Filter Change
Summary of the thread
After changing the fuel filter on a 2019 Fiat Strada diesel, the engine began stalling, the check engine light activated, and there was a noticeable drop in power. The issue was suspected to be related to a pressure drop, possibly involving the pressure sensor or fuel rail. It was suggested to check the fuel filter installation and lines, as well as the fuel pressure regulator, which might have been damaged during the filter change. The problem was resolved by replacing the faulty fuel pressure regulator, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely double-check the filter and lines. Where exactly is the fuel pressure regulator located? Is it easy to get to on the Strada?

I'm not 100% sure on the exact location on your specific model, as models vary slightly. Based on the symptoms and error entry after changing the fuel filter, it's very likely the defective fuel pressure regulator. I suggest getting it checked by a professional. They have the right tools to properly diagnose it. Could save you a lot of headache!

Okay, thanks for the help! I took it to a local workshop, and you were right, it was the fuel pressure regulator. Apparently, it got a bit wonky when I changed the fuel filter. Cost me about 45€ to get it sorted. Runs like a charm now!

Hey, I had almost the same thing happen with my Strada! Check engine light, rough idle, the whole shebang. Did you make absolutely sure the fuel filter was seated correctly and the lines are tight? It sounds like you're experiencing a similar issue, so I would double-check your work. Also, perhaps you accidentally damaged the fuel pressure regulator while changing the filter.
