Strada Glow Plug Defective Error
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Fiat Strada diesel is experiencing a persistent preheating lamp on the dashboard and a glow plug defective error code. The issue is likely causing rough idling, especially when the engine is cold, suggesting a problem with the glow plugs. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected and repaired at a workshop, which successfully resolved the issue in a similar case.

It does run a bit rough when it's cold, yeah. Feels like it's not firing on all cylinders right away. Was that also part of your issue? Any other problems with engine combustion maybe?

Yep, rough idle confirmed it for me. It's likely a glow plug issue. You can try and diagnose it yourself, but honestly, considering the hassle and the potential for things to go wrong, it might be best to take it to a workshop. That's what I did in the end.

Thanks for the advice! Dropped it off at the workshop, and you were spot on, it was the glow plugs. Cost me 440€ to get it sorted.

Yeah, I had something similar happen with my Strada. Same symptoms – preheating lamp staying on and a stored error. Does it feel a bit rough on idle, almost like a misfire, especially when the engine is cold?
