Strada PTC Heater Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Fiat Strada diesel is experiencing poor engine performance when cold, an error code, and increased fuel consumption, potentially due to a PTC heater issue. The problem may be linked to the auxiliary heater, as indicated by the blower motor working harder. The suggested solution is to confirm the electrical fault at a workshop and proceed with a heater repair, which resolved the issue and restored normal engine function and temperature stability.

Good shout. The blower does seem to be blasting a bit more. It's been happening for about a month, maybe a little longer. Could this really be costing me 350€ to fix?

Sadly, yes, it does sound like that's your problem. I eventually had to bite the bullet and get mine replaced. Given the stored error and increased fuel consumption, you're probably best off taking it to a workshop to confirm the electrical fault and get a proper heater repair done. Is there any other way?

I appreciate the confirmation. I'll get it booked in. I bit the bullet. 350€ for the repair. Everything works as it should. Temperature is stable and the engine runs smooth again.

Hmm, that sounds awfully familiar! I have a Strada too, and those symptoms could very well point to your auxiliary heater. Do you notice if the blower motor seems to be working overtime to compensate? How long has this been going on?
