Superb audio system failure
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Skoda Superb experienced a complete audio system failure, with no sound output and an error code indicating a potential display defect. The issue included unresponsive dashboard controls and static noise, suggesting a faulty display unit. A shop confirmed the diagnosis, and after replacing the display unit, the audio system was restored to working condition.

Interesting! Yeah, the dashboard controls seem unresponsive sometimes, and I've noticed some static noise even when the volume is supposedly at zero. Was that similar to your experience?

Yep, static noise and unresponsive volume control are classic symptoms. It points to the display unit being faulty. A shop visit is probably your best bet to confirm and get it sorted.

Took it to a shop. They confirmed it was the display unit itself, just like you said. Bill came to 725€, but the sound system is finally working again! Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a defective display. I had a similar issue with my Superb. Does the volume control act erratically, or is there just no sound at all?
