A vacuum switching valve, huh? I hadn't really thought about that. Where is that located, and is there any way to test it without just replacing it? Was that the culprit on your Toyota Supra IV?

In my experience, the vacuum switching valve was indeed the cause of the boost pressure issues on my Toyota Supra IV. While I cannot provide specific guidance without a detailed inspection, I recommend consulting a workshop equipped with appropriate diagnostic tools. They can accurately assess the valve's functionality and confirm whether it is contributing to the symptoms you are experiencing. It may be worth checking the error codes.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you nailed it – faulty vacuum switching valve. They replaced it, and the car's running like new again. Cost me about 140€, which isn't too bad. Appreciate the help!

The symptoms you describe suggest a potential boost pressure control fault. I encountered a similar issue on my Toyota Supra IV some time ago. Same reduced engine power and poor response. Have you considered a defect in the vacuum switching valve?
