Thanks for sharing your experience. The symptoms with my Ciaz are practically identical to what you described. Going to get this checked soon since I dont want to risk damaging more components. The voltage drop during startup is particularly concerning. Quick question, do you remember roughly what the total repair cost was for your alternator issue? Also, has everything been working fine since the fix, or have you noticed any other electrical quirks?

Thanks for asking. After getting it checked, my case was actually simpler than feared. The charging system diagnosis pointed to a heavily discharged battery rather than an alternator issue. Total repair came to 290€ for testing, recharging, and ultimately replacing the battery. Really glad I got it sorted quickly. The low voltage warnings and electrical quirks completely disappeared after the fix. The charging system now maintains proper voltage levels and startup is consistently strong. Going on 6 months now without any electrical problems. Looking back, the voltage regulator concerns were unfounded, a failing battery was the root cause. Would definitely recommend getting your Ciaz checked soon since the symptoms match what I experienced. Catching these power supply issues early typically prevents more expensive repairs down the line.

After seeing the concerning electrical symptoms with my Ciaz, I finally took it to a reputable mechanic last week. The battery terminals were badly corroded, and testing showed both low voltage and poor battery health. They did a complete charging system diagnostic to rule out alternator issues. Turns out the main culprit was a 4-year-old original battery that was severely degraded, combined with corroded connections that were preventing proper charging. Total bill came to 320€ for: New battery installation, Terminal cleaning and replacement, Full charging system test, Labor costs Car starts perfectly now with no more flickering lights or electrical problems. Definitely worth getting it checked, the peace of mind alone was worth the cost. The mechanic was thorough and explained everything clearly, which was a welcome change from my previous experiences.

Had similar electrical problems with my 2015 Suzuki Swift. After multiple weak starts and flickering dashboard lights, the voltage regulator turned out to be faulty, which was draining the battery even when the car was off. First signs were identical, struggling starter motor and unstable power supply to electrical systems. A proper diagnostic revealed the alternator wasnt maintaining correct battery voltage, leading to a heavily discharged battery condition. The repair involved: Testing battery health, Checking alternator output, Replacing voltage regulator, Installing new battery cables due to corrosion This was a serious electrical problem that required professional attention. The faulty voltage regulator was steadily damaging the battery, and continuing to drive would have eventually left me stranded. The alternator was thankfully still good, which saved significant repair costs. For your Ciaz, recommend getting the charging system tested before the battery gets permanently damaged. These symptoms often indicate more than just a weak battery, its likely a charging system component causing the power supply issues.
