Sylphy EV Transmission Problems

I've got a 2021 Nissan Sylphy EV with about 175k km on the clock. Recently, the gearbox has been acting up. The paddle shifters don't seem to work anymore, and the shifting feels really rough, almost like the gears are slipping. Sometimes it even makes a grinding noise when it shifts. The paddles feel super slow to respond, and now the gearbox is stuck in emergency mode. I scanned it and there's an error code stored related to the transmission. Anyone experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Nissan Sylphy EV is experiencing transmission issues, including non-responsive paddle shifters, rough shifting, gear slipping, and grinding noises, with the gearbox stuck in emergency mode. The problem is linked to an error code related to the transmission control unit, suggesting a potential defect in this component. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a qualified workshop, as the issue likely requires specialized tools and expertise.

I also own a Nissan Sylphy and your symptoms sound very familiar to an issue I had. The 'shifting not possible on the paddle shifters' and 'gearbox slips/shifts uncleanly' sounds like the first symptoms I noticed on my car as well. The error code stored is also an indicator. Did you perform an error memory check?

Yeah, I scanned the car, and it showed an error related to the transmission control unit. Is that what you experienced as well? What did you do to fix it?

Yes, that's exactly the same error I had. Based on the symptoms you described and the error code pointing to the transmission control unit, it seems like the affected control unit is probably defective. In my case, the issue was indeed with the transmission control unit. Given the complexity of the transmission system and the ECU, I strongly recommend taking your Sylphy to a qualified workshop for a thorough diagnosis and repair. These systems require specialized tools and expertise. In the end it cost me 1000€ to replace it.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'm in for a similar repair. I'll book it in with a local shop to get it checked out and fixed. I appreciate the help!
