Thanks for sharing your experience with the outside temperature sensor problem. Almost identical to what I had with my T-Roc. After fixing mine last month, everything works perfectly now, AC, mirror heating, and washer nozzles are all back to normal. Just curious, how much did the whole sensor replacement cost you? Mine was around 380€ including labor, which seemed reasonable considering the amount of work involved. Also, have you noticed any other issues popping up since the repair? Sometimes sensor malfunctions can be related to other electrical problems, but fortunately my car has been running great since the fix.

Good to hear you got your T-Roc fixed. Unlike your case, my repair was much simpler and cheaper. The mechanic found that the cable connection to the outside temperature sensor was loose and slightly corroded. A thorough cleaning and proper reconnection of the component solved the issue completely. Total cost came to 95€ including labor. Since having the temperature sensor fault fixed, all systems have been working flawlessly. The temperature monitoring readings are accurate, AC performs normally, and mirror heating functions as intended. No additional electrical issues have surfaced in the months following the repair. Your 380€ repair sounds reasonable if they had to replace the entire sensor and do extensive work. In my case, we got lucky that only the connection needed attention rather than a full temperature sensor replacement. These sensor systems can be tricky, sometimes its just a connection issue, other times the whole unit needs replacing.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. Wanted to share how my repair journey ended. After reading about similar temperature sensor issues here, I took my T-Roc to a different mechanic who specializes in VW electronics. The diagnostic revealed a completely failed temperature sensor plus some water damage in the wiring. They had to remove the front bumper to access everything properly. The sensor replacement took about 3 hours total, but the results were worth it. My final bill came to 380€, which included: New temperature sensor, Wiring repairs, Labor costs, System recalibration Everything works perfectly now, the AC blows cold, mirror heating functions normally, and the washer nozzles operate as they should. The temperature readings are accurate and consistent. No error codes have returned after a month of driving. Definitely learned my lesson about finding the right specialist for these kinds of temperature monitoring system issues. Regular mechanics might miss the underlying problems with vehicle temperature sensors.

I had a similar outside temperature sensor issue on my VW Golf 2017 TSI. The symptoms matched exactly, temperature monitoring systems malfunctioning, AC issues, and frozen washer nozzles. The vehicle temperature sensor was sending incorrect signals to multiple systems. The main problem was a corroded wiring harness connecting to the temperature sensor behind the front bumper. The vehicle temperature gauge showed unusual readings, which affected several comfort systems. After a thorough diagnostic, it became clear the temperature sensor replacement alone wouldn't solve it. The repair required: Complete removal of front bumper, Replacement of the outside temperature sensor, New wiring harness installation, Recalibration of temperature monitoring systems This was a fairly serious issue since it affected multiple vehicle systems and required extensive disassembly. The faulty sensor could have led to more severe problems if left unrepaired, particularly with the climate control system. When choosing a repair shop, look for technicians who specialize in VW electronics and have proper diagnostic equipment. The temperature sensor replacement itself isn't complex, but proper diagnosis and wiring repair require expertise.
