Tacoma Hybrid Boost Sensor Plug Issue

I'm having serious issues with my 2023 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid. It's got 170312 km, and the check engine light is on. When accelerating, the truck jerks, there's a whistling noise, and a loud hissing sound. The engine even stalls at idle sometimes. My fuel consumption has increased, and the engine power is noticeably reduced. I suspect it might be the boost pressure sensor since the symptoms appeared after I worked on the intake manifold. I've checked the sensor itself, and it seems fine, but I suspect the cable or plug connection might be defective. Anyone else had similar issues?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Tacoma. Check engine light, jerking, and hissing. Have you checked for any loose connections around the turbo system?

I inspected the sensor and its surroundings, but I'll check the connections around the turbo system again. Can you provide more details about the issue you experienced? Was it the boost sensor?

It was indeed the boost sensor. I tried cleaning the contacts, but that didn't help. Ultimately, I had to take it to a workshop. They diagnosed a faulty connection and replaced the plug. Problem solved. Save yourself the headache and get it checked out.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was a defective plug on the boost pressure sensor cable. They replaced it, and the total repair cost was 95€. Everything is working perfectly now.
