Tacuma Rich Running Fuel Injectors
Summary of the thread
A Chevrolet Tacuma from 2009 was experiencing issues such as running too rich, reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, higher fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. The problem was suspected to be caused by defective fuel injectors. After a professional diagnosis confirmed the faulty injectors, they were replaced, resolving the issues and improving the engine's performance.

The exhaust does smell of fuel. The air filter appears clean. How did you resolve your rich running issue?

For me, the issue was indeed the fuel injectors. I would suggest visiting a workshop to get them checked. The mechanic can perform diagnostic tests to confirm if they are faulty and causing the rich fuel mixture. It may be best to have it professionally diagnosed.

Thank you. The workshop confirmed that the fuel injectors were indeed defective. The repair, including parts and labour, cost 515€. The engine now runs much better.

I had a similar experience with my Tacuma. Does the exhaust smell strongly of fuel? Have you checked your air filter? A clogged filter can sometimes cause this. It might also be worth checking the catalytic converter.
